Tidewater Horse Council Fun Day

Tidewater Horse Council held its Fun Day on June 12th at Northwest River Park. The day began with Coggins checks and new member registration. Once the business of the day was taken care of, the fun began. Six games were enjoyed by 17 horse & rider teams. At least as many members turned out to watch the fun. Following the games was our usual scrumptious pot luck lunch with chicken provided by THC and all the fixins’ brought by the members. As so often happens, the after lunch trail ride was a bust. The reason was “too buggy”, but we all know the real reason was getting too comfy, being well-fed and enjoying good company. Whatever - the day was a great success! Thank you to everyone who had a hand in its success.~ Our Grand Prize Winner ~ Points were assigned to 1st thru 3rd place for each game. The Grand Prize went to the person with the most points at the end of the day. Shane Hollar was our Grand Prize Winner for the day. ~ Our Sponsors ~ The following businesses donated prizes for our event. Please thank them the next time you visit their stores! --Totally Horses-- 237 So. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, Continued

Your horses? Your pets? I urge all of you to take the time to make a written plan for your family and your horses. By the time the hurricane is upon us, it is too late to think. You need to be ready to act. Please consider registering your farm and horses with CART (Community Animal Response Team). If you need help it is important for someone to know where you are and your particular circumstances. We have chosen a date for our fall trail ride, October 3rd. It will be at Wildwood in Moyock, thanks to Wade Landers. If you can volunteer, please contact David Drennon or myself. As always, we need your help to make this event a success. Please pass the flyer enclosed in this newsletter to all your riding buddies and any tack stores that might be near you. We are hoping for major Continued
