Airfield Horse Lovers Club and Tidewater Horse Council are sponsoring a clinic on June 15, 2008 at the 4-H Center in Wakefield. This will be taught/demonstrated by Dr. Cathy Lombardi of The Oaks Veterinary Clinic. She will be doing hands-on instruction of First Aid on the Trail. President's MessageThank you to all those who helped out with the Liz Graves clinic. Special thanks go out to David and Sheena Drenon who provided the housing for Ms. Graves, not to mention all the food on Friday and Saturday night. It was delicious! You both went way beyond what was necessary and helped to make it a truly fun weekend. Thanks also to Joe Miller, Jim Blanks and Jordan Keck who were our chefs at the clinic. They did an excellent job!
While I know different experiences were had by all the participants, I feel safe in saying that everyone who attended learned something. And, we even managed to make a profit at the same time. We have been asked by many of the participants to sponsor another clinic with Ms. Graves next year. It will be a topic of discussion at our May meeting.
Speaking of the meeting, we are very lucky to have Ray Wharton from Chesapeake Parks and Recreation as a speaker. He will be talking to us about the changes coming at Northwest River Park.
